Multimedia
A few samples from graduate assignments, my work as an Instructional Designer, and my everyday life.

Instructional Videos

This was a video project for a class in Summer of 2023. Made with PowerPoint and Adobe Premiere Pro, this instructional video focused on set creation, proper lighting, using several cameras, timing, special effects, graphic options, incorporating Meyer’s Multimedia Principles..and some genealogy.

Informational Videos

I created this video as part of the
a Universal Design for Learning course design project. The SME and I could not quite find a video that included the desired content. So, I made this series-the first in a three-part series-using Adobe Premiere Pro, PowerPoint, and some Adobe Photoshop.

H5P

This example of my H5P work won the 2024 H5P Academy Award for Best Use of Multimedia. This was the second of four pieces, created as part of a complete, self-directed introduction to the orchestra for a Music Appreciation course using only H5P. All images, audio, and video are Creative Commons Licensed.
For more of my work with H5P and the rest of this instruction, visit the H5P page.

Interactive Learning Objects
Articulate 360
I created this Articulate for a Communications-101 instructor.
Initially, students were given one sheet of bulleted information about what they should and should not use for visual aids, which they rarely read.
Made in Articulate Rise, this learning object engages students with examples, non-examples, videos, and knowledge checks.
The interactivity, embedded feedback, and ability to take the knowledge checks as often as necessary improved learning and student success.
Photoshop

I use Photoshop for personal and professional projects, large and small. One of my favorite uses is transforming personal photos.

Setting Knowledge Chart

I created this fillable, graphic organizer for my D&D Creative Writing course. The students used it to brainstorm their setting for their stories. Images for this chart were first created in Photoshop.

Using Panopto Videos Guide

For my work as an Instructional Designer, I am often called upon to create document guides for students, faculty, or staff. This sample is a series of faculty guides I created for implementing Panopto videos in their courses.

The text is my own, and the images are screenshots from a sample course. The Microsoft Accessibility Checker was used for this document.

In Design

Created for a Harmony and Theory course, these student surveys were themed using color and images.
